Buying new cheaper sofa vs better quality used sofa for < 1 year use

Buying new cheaper sofa vs better quality used sofa for < 1 year use

Due to the foam shortage, none of the couches that I liked in store are going to be available for it seems like around 6 months. I don't have a couch in my apartment, and want to buy a couch now rather than waiting for one of the couches I want to come in. My options seem to be limited to:

Buy a cheaper couch from Ikea/Raymour and Flanigan that can deliver quick

Buy a used nicer couch for a similar price (Crate and Barrel/Room and Board seem to be the most available used couches in my area).

Which would you recommend? It seems like the new ready to ship couches are not that great quality, but am concerned with buying a used couch due to safety, and I think I would have to get it professionally cleaned before using.
